March 8 is more than a date on the calendar.
It’s not about discounts.
It’s not about symbolic gestures.
And it’s not about a single day of recognition.
International Women’s Day is a moment to acknowledge influence — often quiet, often underestimated, but deeply transformative.
In fashion, that influence is everywhere.
In sustainable fashion, it is fundamental.
Women Shape Fashion — Not Just Trends
Fashion is often reduced to aesthetics: colour, silhouette, season.
But behind every product are decisions. Processes. People.
Women are not only consumers of fashion.
They are designers, founders, craftswomen, production specialists, decision-makers.
They lead brands.
They question systems.
They reshape industries.
In our workshops in Poland, it is women who bring experience, precision and an uncompromising eye for quality to every product.
They don’t just sew bags.
They refine details.
They improve construction.
They test functionality.
Without them, our products would not exist.
Sustainable fashion is not created on mood boards alone.
It emerges through dialogue — between design and real-life experience.
When Experience Meets Everyday Life
Many of our designs were not born purely from concept sketches.
Our crossbody bag evolved from conversations about movement, balance and everyday practicality.
Our shopper and trapeze (baguette) bags were shaped not only by design, but by feedback from the women who craft them — and who carry them themselves.
Is the weight right?
Is the strap comfortable over time?
Does the interior make sense in daily use?
Will the material age well?
These are not trend-driven questions.
They come from lived experience.
This is where sustainable design becomes stronger: when craftsmanship and real life intersect.
Women Drive Sustainable Decisions
Research consistently shows that women influence the majority of purchasing decisions — especially in fashion.
But today, it’s no longer just about style.
It’s about questions like:
Where was this made?
Under what conditions?
What materials are used?
How long will it last?
Sustainable fashion grows because these questions are being asked more frequently — and more seriously.
Terms such as fair production, Made in Europe, small-batch manufacturing, and animal-friendly materials reflect a shift in expectations.
We’ve shared more about our decision to manufacture exclusively in Europe here:
Why We Still Produce our Bags in Europe
Short supply chains and transparent processes are not marketing strategies.
They are structural choices.
Sustainability Is Responsibility — Not a Trend
The global fashion industry is built on speed.
Collections rotate quickly.
Trends disappear fast.
Products are designed for short lifespans.
Fast fashion thrives on acceleration.
Sustainable fashion relies on durability.
Small series instead of mass production.
Quality instead of volume.
Transparency instead of vague promises.
In this transformation, women play a central role — as entrepreneurs, as makers, as informed consumers.
Sustainable bags are not simply accessories.
They represent a conscious approach to how fashion should be made.
What March 8 Can Truly Represent
International Women’s Day doesn’t need to be loud to be meaningful.
Perhaps it is simply a moment to pause.
To acknowledge competence.
To recognise craftsmanship.
To value responsibility.
Without the women in our workshops, our bags would not exist.
Without conscious decisions, sustainable fashion would not move forward.
Every thoughtful choice is a quiet but powerful statement.
And perhaps that is the kind of strength that matters most today.
