Some bags you buy. Some bags you keep.
Our first laptop bag prototype in Camel Nubuck was born over four years ago. No logo. No campaign. No launch event. Just a piece of corn-based vegan leather, hand-sewn in a small workshop in Poland.
Since then, it's been used almost every single day. To the office. To the café. On trips. In the rain. At markets. And yes – once to a rave.
What happened to it? Much less than you'd expect.
What Is Viridis® – The Material Behind the Bag?
Viridis® is a plant-based vegan leather made from European corn and wheat, produced in Italy by Panama Trimmings. It contains up to 69% plant-derived raw materials and is free from animal components, PVC, and microplastics. The material holds the Animal Free certification by LAV, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, and FSC certification. Plant Inside as a brand carries an additional PETA certification, reflecting our commitment to cruelty-free production across the entire supply chain.
We chose Viridis® because it's the most honest material we've found – it doesn't overpromise. It's not perfect. But it's real.

The 4-Year Test: What Did We Actually Experience?
Everyday Use, No Exceptions
The first prototype of the vegan laptop bag in Camel Nubuck was put to work immediately – not as a display piece, but as a real working bag. MacBook 16". Charger. Notebooks. Sometimes too much of everything.

Here's what four years of daily use actually looks like:
- Shape: fully retained – no sagging, no deformation
- Stitching: intact, not a single loose thread
- Zipper: works exactly as on day one
- Handles: no cracks, no discolouration
- Material: a gentle patina – much like real leather develops, but no cracking
At the Klimaty Design Market in Gdańsk, we brought this bag as a real-life example of a product used daily for over two years. One visitor's reaction stuck with us: "This looks better than my leather bag."
What Really Happens When Camel Nubuck Gets Dirty
Camel Nubuck is lighter than Matt – and yes, it shows marks more visibly than black matt leather. That's just physics.
But here's the surprising part:
A damp cloth with a little mild soap – and the marks disappear. Viridis® dries in about 15 minutes, and once dry, the cleaned area is completely invisible.

No special products. No leather care kit. No effort.
We proved this to a friend who received one of our lunch bags as a gift over two years ago. He'd spilled yoghurt inside and was too afraid to clean it. When we told him that Washpapa – the material used in our lunch bags – can simply be rinsed under running water, he didn't believe us. The stain disappeared. The bag looked brand new.
Why Camel Nubuck?
It's the boldest colour in our collection. Not because it stands out – but because it requires trust.
Sand. Camel. Warm sunlight on pale leather.
Camel Nubuck is the colour you choose when you know the material will hold up. And after four years, we can say that with complete confidence: it does.
In our family, almost everyone uses our own products. Different habits, different conditions, same quality.
Our son – who puts our products through the most demanding tests and has little patience for compromise – says about our vegan wallet made from Viridis®: "This is our best product." He carries it in his jeans pocket every single day. No deformation. No discolouration. After years.
What Does This Mean for You?
A vegan laptop bag made from plant-based leather is no longer an experiment.
It's a decision – for quality, for responsibility, for something that lasts.
If you've been wondering whether vegan leather really holds up, here's our answer after four years of real daily use: Yes. Without a doubt.

FAQ
Does corn-based vegan leather really last as long as real leather?
Based on our own testing over more than four years: yes. Viridis® material doesn't deform, crack, or lose its colour under normal everyday conditions.
Is Camel Nubuck harder to maintain than black matt leather?
Camel Nubuck shows dirt more quickly, but it's just as easy to clean – a damp cloth with mild soap does the job. Once dry, cleaned areas are undetectable.
Does a MacBook 16" fit in the Plant Inside laptop bag?
Yes. Our laptop bag has a padded main compartment for laptops up to 16", plus four interior pockets and two exterior pockets.
Does vegan leather get better or worse with age?
Viridis® develops a gentle patina over time – similar to real leather. It doesn't become brittle, doesn't crack, and retains its structural integrity.
Is the Plant Inside laptop bag suitable for travel?
Yes. The water-resistant material, secure YKK zipper, and approx. 980g weight make it ideal for commuting, travel, and everyday professional use.
